Webb14 jan. 2014 · The Simrad IS15 multi instrument has become intermittent. I guess I need to replace it (unless some has repair suggestions). Everything is 0183, but my new chartpotter (Garmin 740) can do nema 2k so I will be moving in that direction over time. I'm tempted by a new Garmin GMI10 or GMI20 but they sure are pricey. I oiled the axis with thin oil, that worked for one summer, but then it became worth than before. I sent the IS15 to the Simrad service. They replaced the transducer for approx. 200€. Now the IS15 work fine again. They told me never to oil the axi, because this will damage the slide bearings.
